How much is there to say about it all, anyway?

Conversation is a two-way street. Is prayer conversation? What have I learned from prayer? Setting aside what I’ve learned in Scripture and theology texts (i.e., information from God and from other people)—what have I learned in conversation with God?

I reply : Scripture is not just a dead letter, however informative; my conversation with the Lord is across a lifetime of prayerful response to Scripture. He speaks to me in the Word and I reply in prayer—that’s how the conversation goes.

To be perfectly honest, I haven’t been a good conversation partner at all.
